Users benefit from the secure connection of a freely selectable cloud, simplified data analysis for predictive maintenance and machine optimisation. The demonstration of the Beckhoff Drive Technology in the dynamic and high-precision process of a hybrid axis is another highlight at the Beckhoff booth. PC-based Control integrates PLC, Motion Control, robotics, vision, condition and power monitoring, big data and IoT on one platform. The modular TwinCAT control software in conjunction with the scalable Beckhoff hardware portfolio meets all application and performance requirements in the sheet metal working industry. The control architecture follows the principle of simplicity: from cloud connectivity to the TwinCAT PLC Hydraulic Positioning software library for implementing energy-efficient, servo-hydraulic drive concepts.

At our EuroBlech booth you can experience firsthand how you can easily and safely use cloud services for your machine. As a software tool TwinCAT IoT supports all popular standards such as OPC UA, MQTT or AMQP and thus enables secure communication with the cloud. On the hardware side, the ultra-compact C6015 and C6017 Industrial PCs are available as a universal platform for control and visualisation, or as IoT/Edge Devices.

In hall 27, Beckhoff will demonstrate how you can benefit from system-integrated data analysis via TwinCAT Analytics. The analysis tool simplifies the evaluation of cloud-based data and makes them available for comprehensive process analysis and predictive maintenance. This results in competitive advantages and new business models for both end customers and machine manufacturers. The platform-independent configuration of an individual analysis dashboard is based on TwinCAT HMI using HTML5 technologies, which saves time and money.

Highly dynamic Servo Drives for hybrid axes

The strengths of hydraulic drive technology such as a fast motion cycle and low mounting requirements are offset by higher maintenance costs and poor efficiency. Servo-electric hybrid axes offer a low-maintenance and energy-efficient solution here. Beckhoff drive technology is the ideal complement to these innovative concepts: The highly dynamic servo drive technology enables short machine cycles with low energy consumption. You can see for yourself the dynamic and precise movement of a hybrid axis on the basis of the servo-electric drive technology from Beckhoff in a live demonstration at the Beckhoff trade show booth. The drive solution consists of the AX5000 servo drive and the AM8000 servomotor with One Cable Technology and the TwinCAT PLC Hydraulic Positioning software library.

Distributed Servo Drive system reduces the machine footprint

The AMP8000 distributed Servo Drive system integrates the Servo Drive directly into the servomotor, thereby opening up new avenues for modular machine concepts. By shifting the power electronics directly to the machine, the space requirement in the control cabinet is reduced to a single coupling module that supplies several Servo Drives with just one cable via a distribution module.
